We are committed to establishing a safe, fun, and relaxing environment for the public. Activities and programs within the department will promote community involvement and learning atmosphere. We encourage all citizens to be active and to pursue a higher quality of life. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Smithville Recreation Center The City of Smithville Indoor Recreation Center is a city-owned 22,500 square foot multi-purpose facility. The building features a full-sized UIL standard gymnasium and theatrical stage. It is also equipped with a computer room, meeting rooms, kitchen, two dance studios, racquetball court, weight room and both men's and women's restrooms have lockers and showers for your convenience. It is also home to instructor based fitness classes and dance classes along with our youth basketball & volleyball programs, after school program, summer activities and senior activities.

The Smithville area is also host to four parks that are owned and maintained by the Smithville Parks and Recreation Department.
