The Parks and Recreation Department provides leisure opportunities for all citizens of Smithville and surrounding communities. We are committed to establishing a safe, fun, and relaxing environment for the public. Activities and programs within the department will promote community involvement and learning atmosphere. We encourage all citizens to be active and to pursue a higher quality of life.
The City of Smithville Indoor Recreation Center is a city-owned 22,500 square foot multi-purpose facility. The building features a full-sized UIL standard gymnasium and theatrical stage. It is also equipped with a computer room, meeting rooms, kitchen, two dance studios, racquetball court, weight room and both men's and women's restrooms have lockers and showers for your convenience. It is also home to instructor based fitness classes and dance classes along with our youth basketball & volleyball programs, after school program, summer activities and senior activities.

The Smithville area is also host to four parks that are owned and maintained by the Smithville Parks and Recreation Department. The parks are all kept clean and well-maintained, and each park offers features that will provide a fun or relaxing time for the entire community.

Pay in person at 106 Royston, Smithville, TX or over the phone with a Visa, Master Card or Discover. Checks may also be mailed to cover payment. After hour reservations must pay the Police Dept. w/cash or check If reserving by phone but paying upon arrival, a credit card must be provided to secure your site. Sites #1, 13 & 19 are pull through sites Each site has water and electric hook-ups, picnic tables and grills A dump station is located on the left side of the campground entrance Men and women restrooms are available Leashed pets are welcome!
