Part-time Library Associate Position

Entry level; flexible hours (up to 20/week

Candidates must have:

  • Excellent customer service skills;
  • Positive and reliable work ethic;
  • Ability to work as part of a team;
  • Strong working knowledge of office equipment, including computers;

Preferred skills include:

  • Prior exposure to library functions;
  • Accurate typing ability;
  • Strong sense of organization
  • Working familiarity with databases

Peace Officer

Peace Officer: The City of Smithville is currently seeking applications for Peace Officer. Applicants must possess, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid State Drivers’ License without a record of suspension or revocation in any state; ability to meet the Department’s physical standards. Formal application, education, and experience; offer of employment; psychological examination; drug screening. Position works on assigned shifts using own judgment in deciding course of action; is expected to handle difficult and emergency situations while patrolling the city streets, parks, commercial and residential areas. Position Open Till Filled. The City of Smithville is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Police Dispatcher (Telecommunicator)

Police Dispatcher (Telecommunicator): The City of Smithville is currently seeking applications for Telecommunicator. Applicants must possess a valid Texas Driver's License; must not have been convicted of any offense greater than a class C offense; must be able to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, and occasional overtime. Applicants must pass a complete background check, psychological evaluation, and drug screening.  Good applicants will have excellent organizational and prioritization skills and be able to multi-task.
