City of Smithville Offices to be Closed Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2018
CITY OF SMITHVILLE OFFICES WILL BE CLOSED FOR NATIONAL DAY OF MOURNING - In honor of George H. W. Bush, 41st president of the United States, all City of Smithville offices will be CLOSED on Wednesday, December 5, 2018. Bastrop County offices, the City of Elgin, the City of Bastrop, and the City of Smithville are joining President Trump and Governor Abbott in ordering a day of mourning in honor of President Bush. For those who take the day away from work, please use it to remember and honor President Bush for a lifetime of public service including the years he spent in the White House as Vice President and President.
