Mitchell and his family moved to Smithville permanently in 2013 after decades of frequent visits to be near his wife Sherry's extended hometown family and relatives. That local family now includes their daughter's family and 2 grandchildren in local schools along with 3 sisters and many cousins. Smithville is home!
After 20 years of leading corporate sales and management teams, Mitchell ventured into entrepreneurship and started an insurance agency from scratch in 2003. 20 years later he felt it was time to give back to the local community by becoming involved in helping citizens understand and navigate local governmental issues and have a voice in addressing the challenges of inevitable growth coming their way.
Now a member of the city council, he has joined a very talented group of public servants eager to represent the interests of the people and the future of Smithville.
