Blue Santa
Blue Santa is dedicated to providing toys and needed clothing to as many underprivileged children in the Smithville area as possible. We are only able to provide this valuable service, thanks to our generous sponsors and through private donations.
Blue Santa Events - Each year, Blue Santa Smithville sponsors events to gather toys, clothing, and donations for the year's distribution. The events include a Bike Drop, Chamber Mixer, and Toy barrels. We encourage the community to participate in the wrap night that occurs just before we distribute the gifts to the community.
Blue Bunny
Every year just before Easter, the Blue Bunny program provides candy and plastic eggs to be gathered in an old-fashioned Easter egg hunt. The event is open to all children in the community and is usually held at the gazebo downtown. The event is topped off with a visit from the Easter Bunny, who is always willing to pose for a picture with your child. The event takes the support of the whole community.

Smithville has joined Bastrop County in the Bluebonnet Crime Stoppers. You can call Bluebonnet Crime Stoppers at Phone number: 979-567-4343. Chaplain Program
This program is a service to the community and the Smithville Police Officers. Local clergy volunteer their time and serve the community in local hospitals, nursing homes and private homes. The clergy also serve the Smithville Police Officers in times of loss or major incidents.
Smithville Night Out
National Night Out is a nationwide event coordinated by law enforcement and emergency personnel throughout the country and has thousands of participants. Locally known as Smithville Night Out and held on the first Tuesday in October, citizens are encouraged to participate in a concerted effort to reduce crime and organize neighborhood watch programs. Citizens can host block parties in their neighborhoods which will be visited by FIRE, EMS, and Police Department members who can answer any questions relating to neighborhood safety concerns or starting watch groups. The departments also allow access to emergency vehicles and bring treat bags for the children in attendance. It's a lot of fun and a great way to meet your neighbors and emergency services personnel.
