Young Eagles® Program in Smithville
The Smithville Crawford Municipal Airport is a proud and active participant for the EAA Young Eagles Free Flight program.
The EAA Young Eagles® program started in 1992. Since then, over 2.3 million youth ages 8–17 have flown in an airplane at no charge for the first time. A unique program, its mission is to "introduce and inspire kids in the world of aviation." EAA member volunteers make these flights possible through their generosity of vision and knowledge, and use their personal airplanes to take these youth to the sky!
