Economic Development planning provides a means to consider long-term solution to issues that may arise with uncontrolled or unmitigated growth. Economic Development means many things to many people, but essentially includes three basic activities: creation, retention, or investment of wealth. Workforce development, community development, and business development are all at the core of the programs and projects that lead to the successful implementation of economic development plans that work to increase the quality of life for all.
The Community Forum on Economic Development was held on Tuesday, September 17 from 6:00PM-8:00PM at City Hall. Watch the meeting recording on our City Youtube Channel.
Based on information from the Brief Survey that was distributed prior to that meeting, and the ideas generated at that meeting, a more in-depth survey was created. Please take the Post Meeting Economic Development Survey to help us determine priorities and opportunities for the Smithville Comprehensive Plan.
