Smithville's rich history and cultural and arts heritage are a source of pride and makes the town unique. It brings in tourists, some of whom decide to return in a more permanent capacity by opening a business or moving in as a new resident. Protecting our historic fabric and nurturing our eclectic arts and cultural programming, events, and creative people ensures that Smithville will never become "anywhere USA" regardless of other kinds of development.
The Community Forum on Historic Preservation/Cultural Assets was held on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 from 3:30PM-5:00PM at City Hall. Watch the meeting recording on Youtube Channel.
This brief survey will help inform the discussion and results will be provided to the facilitators as a way to kick off the conversation.
